Hotel Bathtub Reglazing Process
Before any work is completed in your hotel bathroom, our technicians will prepare the area by venting the area. This is done by either utilizing a window or using a duct to hook up to the ventilation system. This ensures that any fumes that are released while working are filtered outside of the room. Once the area is ventilated, our technicians will then finish preparing the area by taping off and tarping areas that will not be reglazed such as the bathtub hardware and tiles surrounding the tub.
Once the area is thoroughly prepared, the bathtub will be cleaned. This step is crucial as it sets your fixture up to ensure that the new coating will stick and adhere well. Our technicians will use products to clean any grease, water stains, soap, and wax residue from the surface of your tub. During this process, any old grout will be removed, if necessary and then a further cleaning process of sanding and acid wash is used to etch the surface of the fixture.
After the tub is cleaned, repairs will be made, should they be needed. The approach taken here will depend on the type of tub and the repairs needed. Any chips, weak spots, peeling, cracks, rust, or other damage can and will be addressed. Repairs during this phase will restore the durability, integrity, and functionality of the tub.
A primer is applied to the bathtub after the repairs are made to ensure that the new coating will adhere well to the tub.
The final step is to apply the finishing product and coating to the tub to deliver a brand-new look. The coating is sprayed directly into the tub for an even finish all the way around. Depending on the tub and its condition, we may need to apply multiple coats. Once the coating has been sprayed on, it will need to dry over a 24-hour period before it can be used again.
